C3: Cooking for College and Community
Join us for another way to do Midrasha through four cooking workshops and two day-long "Food Explorations."
Grow, cook, serve and eat yummy/sustainable food the Midrasha way! You'll get to play with you food at local farms, kitchens and food banks. (May qualify for community service.)
Sunday Cooking Workshops - learn how to make great tasting foods that will impress your friends and can even be cooked in your college dorm room! All cooking workshops will happen from 1:30 - 3:30pm at the B'nai Tikvah kitchen at 25 Hillcroft Way in Walnut Creek.
Day-long Food Explorations - We'll spend a day truly experiencing the "farm-to-table" movement. The day will begin at a local, organic farm helping to cultivate the farm and learning about organic farm practices. From there, we'll pack food at the Contra Costa Food Bank. The day will end with us cooking and eating a meal for and with each other. We'll have a full day together on the following dates:
Where: All workshops and food explorations will either happen or begin at Congregation B'nai Tikvah at 25 Hillcroft Way in Walnut Creek, CA.
Cost of Program: This program is FREE to enrolled Wednesday night students. There is a $275 fee for students without Wednesday night enrollment. (Synagogue members received a $75 discount.)
