Midrasha teens who attend retreats build a stronger Jewish identity through friendship and fun. Teens spend the weekend celebrating Shabbat, hanging out, playing games, getting to know each other and enjoying fun Saturday night activities where the highlight is always Havdalah! The weekend's programs are open to 8-12th graders.

Saturday, April 24th from 7:00 - 9:00pm (LIVE at B’nai Shalom - 74 Eckley Lane, Walnut Creek 94596) with Senior programming from 9:00-10:00pm - Movie Night!
Sunday, April 25th from 2:30 - 4:30pm (LIVE at Briones Park, Newt Hollow Picnic Area) - Treasure Hunt at the Park!!
All in-person activities will happen outdoors including physical distancing, mask-wearing, and other relevant Covid safety protocols.
ONLINE: Join us on Zoom Friday night from 6 pm to 9:30 pm and Saturday from 9:30 am to 2 pm for cool activities including lantern making (art) and photography, magical spiritual moments focused on the theme of Kedoshim (holiness), stimulating intellectual Jewish conversations, and socializing with Jewish friends from around the Bay Area. IN PERSON: We’re super excited to announce our first in person gathering in a year!!! Saturday night, come join us at B'nai Shalom for a movie (YEAR ONE) and Havdallah with your friends that will be from 7 pm to 9:00 pm. Prizes will be given for the funniest, most Jewish, and overall best masks.

Saturday Night from 7-9pm @ Congregation B’nai Shalom - 74 Eckley Lane in Walnut Creek, CA 94597: Mask; Sleeping Bag; Pad, Pillow or Lawn Chair; comfy clothes and sweatshirt or jacket. (Note: Seniors are invited to stay until 10pm for a candle pass ceremony.)
Sunday Afternoon from 230-430pm @ Briones Park at the Bear Creek Staging Area - 16 Bear Creek Rd, Lafayette, CA 94549: Walking Shoes; Mask; Water Bottle; your Phone (for GPS). Our afternoon program includes a GPS scavenger hunt and other games—there will be prizes.
Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, and lunch—we’ll have delicious kosher-style catered food from Manpuku, Gregoire, and Noah’s Bagels. Everything you need for a fantastic Shabbat will be available for pick-up on Friday from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Netivot Shalom 1316 University Ave, Berkeley, CA 94702 and at Congregation B'nai Tikvah - 25 Hillcroft Way, Walnut Creek CA 94597. Want your food and art supplies delivered to your door? There is an added $15 fee per household.
Note: Many teens' registration for 2020-21 included a $200 registration fee. That fee can be applied for this retreat.

*Anyone who rsvp's after the RSVP deadline date/s will be subject to a $100 late fee in order to register. Pre-payment for the retreats is mandatory. Contra Costa Midrasha requires pre-payment for all teens attending retreats so that we can plan accordingly for activities and materials.
Please understand that if your teen decides not to attend the retreat at the last minute, you are still responsible for paying for the retreat. A partial amount can be reimbursed. During check-out, please use the "special instructions" section to let us know about any food allergies or other issues you want to bring to our attention.
