Summer Trip in Bay Area

​Highlights of MIfgash include daily adventures by bus with Israeli high school teens. Sites include San Francisco, the redwoods, high tech tours, Six Flags, 3 day/2 night retreat, pool party, and more! (A full daily itinerary is in process and should be made public at a later date.)

 

Winter Trip to Israel / Mifgash Choref (Winter) TBD 2022-23

​Highlights of Mifgash in Israel include daily adventures by bus with Israeli high school teens including Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, an overnight adventure in the Judean desert, the Dead Sea, Shabbat, a university tour, kibbutz time, Hanukkah in Israel celebration, behind-the-scenes IDF tour, and more!  (A full daily itinerary is in process and should be made public at a later date.) Our older students and those who attend summer Mifgash get priority for Israel trip.

Midrasha American-Israeli Teen Mifgash (Encounter) Summer Adventure: July 27 -August 7, 2022ture!

Contra Costa Midrasha invites any and all Jewish teens (incoming 8th graders - graduating seniors) to join our Mifgash (Encounter) Summer Adventure!

Our goals for Mifgash are: 
To grow our Jewish teens' relationships to Israel by building friendships between our teens and Israeli peers
To strengthen relationships between our teens and the people of Israel 
To educate Israeli teens about Jewish life in the Diaspora
To serve as a catalyst for further Israel-Diaspora relationship building and programming
To develop a deeper connection to Israel through personal relationships
To sharing our culture and our Jewish lives in America
Tikkun Olam (Repairing the world) and Fun (Kef)

Local Jewish teens from the East Bay will host and/or travel with Israeli teens from Israel. Destinations include San Francisco, Six Flags, high tech (TBD), a 3 day / 2 night overnight retreat at NatureBridge, university tours and more; all designed to bond the teens, deepen their Jewish identity and offer a fun and unique way to engage Jewishly. 

Highlights of the week include:

  • Option to home host two Israeli teens for 1/2 or all 11 days (minus 3 day retreat.)

  • Three day-two night retreat at NatureBridge https://naturebridge.org/locations/golden-gate

  • Be a tourist in the Bay Area!  

  • Tikkun Olam (Repairing the world) and Fun (Kef)

  • Ride the roller coasters at Six Flags

  • Learn about life in Israel.  Teach Israelis about being Jewish in America.

  • Beach Time!

  • Amazing Bay Area food.

  • Technology Tour

  • Pool party!

  • Culture!

  • College Tours!

 

Teens can choose to participate for all 11 days , or for individual day-long adventures.  Your supplemented cost for the 11-day program will be posted soon. Scholarships will be available. 

This program is part of the Jewish Teen Education and Engagement Initiative, with support provided by the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund, Jewish Federation of the East Bay and The Jewish Community Foundation, and the Jim Joseph Foundation.  Additional funding also provided by the Contra Costa Jewish Community Center and is sponsored by the Consulate General of Israel, Buttercup Grill, the East Bay International Jewish Film Festival, Sunrise Bistro, Congregations Beth Chaim, B'nai Shalom, and B'nai Tikvah and generous community donors.
