​As you can see our itinerary is still being determined for the Summer of 2020.  We do know we will spend two nights at Nature Bridge in Marin, right on the Pacific Ocean and plan to visit local university campuses, science museums, San Francisco and so much more!  Mark your calendar to host and/or jump on the bus with us!

Midrasha American-Israeli Teen Mifgash (Encounter) Summer Adventure: June 18 - 27, 2020ture!

Contra Costa Midrasha invites any and all Jewish teens (incoming 8th graders - graduating seniors) to join our Summer Mifgash (Encounter) Adventure! The project aims to bring together Israeli and American Jewish teens for day-long bus adventures here in the Bay Area. 

 

 

 

 

Local Jewish teens from Contra Costa will host and/or travel with Israeli teens from the Monsenson Youth Village high school in Hod HaSharon, Israel. Destinations include San Francisco, 6 Flags, Santa Cruz, Silicon Valley, an overnight retreat and more; all designed to bond the teens, deepen their Jewish identity and offer a fun and unique way to engage Jewishly. 

Highlights of the week include...

  • Two-night retreat at Nature Bridge Retreat Center in Marin.

  • Enjoy touring the Bay and beyond with your friends here and from Israel.

  • Ride the roller coasters at 6 Flags

  • Learn about life in Israel.  Teach about being Jewish in America.

  • Beach Time!

  • Amazing Bay Area food.

  • Technology Tour including the Intel Tech Museum.

  • Pool party! Culture! College Tours!

 

Teens can choose to participate for the whole week, or for individual day-long adventures.  Your supplemented cost for the 8-day week is $525, or $90 for a day pass.  Scholarships will be available. 

Last summer (2019) funding was received as part of the Jewish Teen Education and Engagement Initiative, with support provided by the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund, Jewish Federation of the East Bay and The Jewish Community Foundation, and the Jim Joseph Foundation.  Additional funding also provided by the Contra Costa Jewish Community Center and is sponsored by the Consulate General of Israel, Buttercup Grill, the East Bay International Jewish Film Festival, Sunrise Bistro, Congregations Beth Chaim, B'nai Shalom, and B'nai Tikvah and generous community donors.
