July 30 - Aug. 9, 2020
Note: We have the retreat reserved
Aug. 3 - 5 @ NatureBridge!!!
Contra Costa Midrasha invites any and all Jewish teens (incoming 8th graders - graduating seniors) to join our Summer Mifgash (Encounter) Adventure! The project aims to bring together Israeli and American Jewish teens for day-long bus adventures here in the Bay Area.
Local Jewish teens from Contra Costa will host and/or travel with Israeli teens from the Mosinzon Youth Village high school in Hod HaSharon, Israel. Destinations include local San Francisco attractions, high tech, an overnight retreat and more; all designed to bond the teens, deepen their Jewish identity and offer a fun and unique way to engage Jewishly.
Teens can choose to participate for the whole program (10 days) or for individual day-long adventures. Your supplemented cost for the 10-day week is $765 if you sign up by May 2, or $565 if you are hosting 2-3 Israeli teens. The $110 one day passes will be available after May 2, 2020. Scholarships will be available.
Last summer (2019) funding was received as part of the Jewish Teen Education and Engagement Initiative, with support provided by the Jewish Community Federation and Endowment Fund, Jewish Federation of the East Bay and The Jewish Community Foundation, and the Jim Joseph Foundation. Additional funding also provided by the Contra Costa Jewish Community Center and is sponsored by the Consulate General of Israel, Buttercup Grill, the East Bay International Jewish Film Festival, Sunrise Bistro, Congregations Beth Chaim, B'nai Shalom, and B'nai Tikvah and generous community donors.
