Winter 2026 Los Angeles Heritage Retreat
January 16-19, 2026

Explore. Create. Connect.

Join Contra Costa Midrasha for an unforgettable long-weekend adventure in Los Angeles! This immersive heritage trip blends Jewish learning, cultural discovery, creativity, and community service — all through the lens of LA’s vibrant Jewish life.

🕍 Friday — Journey & Shabbat

Travel together to Los Angeles and kick off the weekend with a special Shabbat dinner celebrating LA’s Jewish Persian community. Experience the warmth, flavors, and stories of one of Southern California’s most dynamic Jewish cultures.

🌊 Saturday — Shabbat on the Beach

Celebrate Shabbat on the beach and take in the Pacific serenity. Then, unleash your creativity with artist Isaac Brynjegard Bialik, crafting your own collage Golem inspired by Jewish folklore and self-expression.

Spend the afternoon in service learning at Beit Teshuvah, and end the day exploring and dining at the iconic Grand Central Market.

🎢 Sunday — Memory & Adventure

Spend the morning at the Museum of Tolerance, connecting history and moral courage to the present day.

Then it’s time for fun and bonding at Universal Studios Hollywood!

🥯 Monday — Reflection & Return

Wrap up your LA experience with a Jewish deli brunch before journeying home — full of memories, new insights, and new friendships.

Where We’ll Stay

We’ll be staying at beachside cabins that accommodate multiple teens and a Midrasha educator.
